Fire Dancer
Posted on February 11, 2009
The FIRE SHOW is safely performed inside. (see details below)
You can pick & chose the elements you want to suit the occasion.
Fire dance - Dance with fire eating (NOT fire spitting) & fakir (the art of rolling flames across the body). 5mins
Dance with live music - Make more of a show. Kate also works with a group of drummers. The beats are lively with African, Cuban, Egyptian & samba reggae rhythms. 30mins-1hour
Meet & greet - Offering of flaming hors d’oeuvres on a silver platter. When your guests are sufficiently unnerved & sure that you would have to be out of your mind to even consider eating these burning appetizers…. I eat them!
Audience Shocker - If you have the devilish kind of humor, picture this scene… All your guests are seated to dinner, warm lighting, the wine is flowing, people relaxing, there is the gentle hum of conversation. A waiter brings in a trolley with a platter & domed lid. He announces, “tonight we have a very rare & special dish, I would urge you all to put away your preconceptions & try this delicacy, but I’m afraid it is not for the squeamish”
He lifts the lid…
Aaagh! Pale faces all round.
The dance starts & everyone is relieved, but has a lasting impression!
Secrecy & a smooth even floor is a must.
Birthday challenge - A humorous & gentle prank for the birthday boy/girl. They are offered the opportunity to become the star fire eating attraction of their own party. It has enough edge to stir a good reaction & warmly gentle enough not to upset a soul.
Burlesque fire act with flaming nipple tassels!
*** SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
The fire show is safely performed indoors, but the venue must be suitable & permission must be obtained from the venue owner. There must be sufficient height & floor space. There must be good ventilation, as the flame produces smoke & in some places it may be necessary to turn off the smoke detector. There is no spitting of fire. The fire act can be performed outdoors, but is too dangerous for the artist to perform in windy conditions. If planning an outdoor performance, you must also arrange suitable alternative shelter in case of bad weather. The event organiser is responsible to make sure there is a suitable performance space. If a venue is not suitable & cancellation occurs as a result, the booking must still be PAID IN FULL.
Most venues are suitable (this act has been performed many times in many locations), but the necessary precautions always need to be made.
